Goal: Goal will vary depending on client needs, but may include: emotional expression, coping skills, positive peer interaction, emotion recognition, and self expression

Description: This activity is adaptable to use in group or individual settings. The process of thinking through the meaning and impact of songs and lyrics provides natural opportunities for reflecting, processing coping skills, and examining emotions. In a group setting, this activity is perfect for targeting social interactions, broadening musical repertoire, and working on appropriate self-expression. The forms provide structure for the activity but it can easily be adapted for different goals and settings.
