Bring your clinical questions & challenges to a 75-minute supervision call facilitated by the MTMS team. You'll gain insight, feedback, and creative solutions from a group of supportive MT-BCs. Plus you can earn up to 9 CMTE credits over a 6-month period!
Calls happen on the second Tuesday of each month (June 9, July 14, Aug 11, Sept 8, Oct 13, Nov 10) via Zoom from 7:30-8:15pm Central Time. Calls happen live but are also recorded to view later.

The Club is for board-certified music therapists (or those pursuing certification) who want affordable, flexible, and creative supervision support—plus connection with a like-minded community.

As of now, our monthly group supervision calls will focus on working with kids and teens across all types of settings—schools, private practice, clinics, and more.
However, our community forum is open to discussion about any age, setting, or population. We know music therapists often wear many hats, and we're here to support you in all areas of your work. -
Both tiers get access to our private community forum, monthly resource credits, and discounts on individual supervision. VIP Members also attend a monthly 75-minute group supervision call and can earn CMTE credits.

Yes—all VIP Members are eligible to earn CMTEs. If you enroll in the 6-month VIP Membership, you can receive up to 9 CMTE credits through participation in the monthly supervision calls! Getting your credits is simple and we’ll help you through everything you need.

Yes! You can join the monthly membership at any time and begin receiving your benefits right away.
The 6-month membership option, however, is only available from June through November. Sign-ups for this round close on June 8, the day before our first group supervision call—so don’t miss out! -
Yes! All monthly memberships are eligible. You can upgrade or downgrade your membership tier at any time to a different monthly membership option. If you have difficulty making the change yourself, reach out to our team and we’ll make the switch for the next billing cycle.

VIP Members can access a recording of the call afterward and still earn CMTEs by completing a reflection form. Live participation is encouraged but not required.

Each month, your credit can be applied to any MTMS digital resources. Unused credits do not roll over, so it’s a great incentive to treat yourself to something new each month!

Right now, yes. We are using a private Facebook group for community connection. If we transition to a new platform in the future, all members will be notified and supported through the change.

Meet the Team

Katie Fortino, MME, MT-BC
Katie earned her master’s in music therapy from the University of Kansas and developed the music therapy program at the Center for Excellence in Disabilities at West Virginia University. She brings experience across early childhood, neurodiverse populations, emotional and behavioral disorders, rehab, and hospice care. Katie has supervised practicum students, interns, and professionals across a range of settings and has trained interdisciplinary teams to use music for functional outcomes. She’s passionate about advocacy and empowering music therapists to feel confident and successful in their work.

Haley Shinn, MM, MT-BC
Haley is a Central Missouri-based music therapist who completed her master’s at Colorado State University while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She has helped build music therapy programs in schools, private practices, and community settings. Haley’s clinical experience spans early childhood, autism, emotional and behavioral needs, stroke rehab, and elder care. She’s supervised students at CSU and WVU, mentored music therapists in clinical and program development, and trained professionals in music-based strategies. Haley loves supporting therapists in staying creative and confident in their work.

Candace Szymanski, MA, MT-BC
Candace received her master’s in music therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has extensive experience in pediatric hospitals and now runs a private practice serving youth in Texas. Her background includes medical, psychiatric, and developmental settings, as well as early childhood, elder care, and bereavement. Candace has supervised students and interns in both inpatient and outpatient care and regularly presents on the power of music therapy in acute and emotional support settings. She’s passionate about equipping music therapists with tools and confidence through meaningful supervision.
